當年莫拉克颱風重創雲林縣樟湖國小，學校獲得張榮發基金會認養，耗資將近兩億元，在新的地點重建，還加蓋國中部。現在新完工的學校坐擁群山美景，不只獲得"最美森林學校"之稱，也讓新生入學人數大幅增加。
