Raspberry Pi Display Serial Interface (DSI)

The purpose of the DSI connector is to give the end user a quick and easy way to connect an LCD panel to the Pi. In this case the chip being interfaced with is the Broadcom BCM2835, which is at the heart of the Raspberry Pi. Because it is a serial connection into the GPU on this chip, bypassing the CPU, it is going to be much faster than going through the HDMI or the RCA connections because they are managed through the CPU.
